hats protect wearers from falling objects and prevent the hard hat
itself from becoming a dropped object when properly secured especiallywhile working at heights.
“It is imperative that our construction industry works relentlessly in our pursuit of safer job sites to protect all of our personnel, including our subtrades,” said John Nibourg, Senior Superintendent, Life Sciences and Technologies Division, EllisDon.
“PPE such as a Type 2 hard hat with integral chin strap are a basic
improvement that helps to reduce traumatic brain injuries, as it
minimizes helmet dislodgement, which better protects a worker
from any top-down and side impact event. Our industry always
adapts to the technical challenges we face, and safety should not

No matter how many years pass, the prioritization of our people’s safety – subcontractors and otherwise – will always be our
