fessionals present were united by a common goal: to make worksites
safer and to ensure every worker returns home at the end of the day.
Their dedication was contagious, inspiring everyone in attendance to
challenge the status quo and push for real, actionable change.
The insights, comments, and recommendations gathered during
these discussions are now being compiled into a comprehensive
summary that will be submitted to the CPO at the MLITSD. This document will possibly inform the development of future strategies, and
will also serve as a testament to the collaborative spirit of Ontario’s
construction community. A detailed account of these recommendations will be shared in an upcoming issue of The Generals, ensuring
that all members can bene昀椀t from the collective wisdom generated at
the Summit.
The OGCA extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Joel Moody and his
team for their diligent work in reviewing the data and for sharing
their preliminary 昀椀ndings with our members. Their openness and
commitment to engaging industry partners in shaping solutions are
deeply appreciated.

We also wish to thank the OGCA members. You rallied your teams
and brought health and safety professionals, executives, site personnel, and workers who participated in the Summit. Your energy, expertise, and unwavering commitment to worker safety were evident
throughout the day. You are the driving force behind the progress we
seek to make, and your contributions are invaluable.
At the OGCA, we 昀椀rmly believe that health and safety is not
proprietary. The challenges we face as an industry are shared, and
so too must be the solutions. Events like the Safety Summit are vital
opportunities for professionals to network, share best practices, and
collaborate on innovative strategies that will enhance safety performance across the entire sector — bene昀椀ting both OGCA members and
non-members alike.
By working together, we can reduce the number of critical injuries
and fatalities in our industry. The Safety Summit has reinforced our
collective commitment to this goal and has laid the groundwork for
meaningful improvements that will in昀氀uence the future of construction safety in Ontario for years to come.
